Did you know that 75% of a real estate transaction is administrative? The average transaction takes an agent 17 to 20 hours to complete. Imagine that. Do you know how many hours that is across a full year?
So, what would happen if you stopped paper pushing and instead focused your time on prospecting, meeting with buyers and sellers, and negotiating contracts? I’ll tell you what’s going to happen. Your business is going to explode and you’re going to go to the closing table way more often.
One of the ways that we have addressed this problem at RE/MAX Realty Affiliates is by developing the Agent Support Center. We found that agents were having a really hard time hiring, training, and managing assistants only to have them go somewhere else and have to start over again.
As home to the area’s highest-producing agents, I always think about how we can produce even more. The way I chose to do this was by taking the burden off of them of an administrative staff and forming our own unit that takes the burden off their shoulders. We call this our Agent Support Center and it covers everything from transaction management to marketing to full listing coordination.
Since we introduced the Agent Support Center, we have found that our agents are actually happier in their businesses. They have more time off, they’re able to focus on their vital activities more, and the lack of that administrative burden has led to more balance in their businesses.
Admittedly, the Agent Support Center can’t take 100% of that 17 to 20 weekly hours off their plate. However, even if we take 65% of that time off, that’s an extra 11 hours per transaction and 10 full-time work weeks per year (for an agent doing 40 transactions annually) that our agents have to focus on what they do best. How would your business be impacted by having all this extra time? It would have no choice but to grow.
If you’re looking for ways to help you have greater balance and have more time off, stop pushing that paper and give us a call or send us an email today. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
